On holiday in Ingoldmells, I checked out the East Lincs Combination Full Time website for a local match and came across a interesting game to be played at Skegness Grammar School between two sides with 100% records, so something had to give in this game..On arrival I found out it was a local derby so bragging rights were also at stake.

Chapel Swifts FC have moved to play their home fixtures on a grass pitch at Skegness Grammar School, whilst their visitors play on the 4g pitch outside out the newly built Skegness Town ground.

The game kicked off and was end to end and they always say that games have turning points and there was one in the first couple of minutes when a home defender bought down a Stars forward, but all to no avail as the referee waved play on to the amazement of most folks watching the game.

In the 8th minute, on Swifts first attack, a corner came in from the right hand side and bullet header by DANNY ASTON found the corner of the net(see photo above.)

Stars pressed hard and had a couple of efforts that went wide, whilst the homesters were playing fast on the break, so it looked like goals were going to be scored. After 32 minutes, the scorers were level when a long range free kick was blocked but bounce to the back post where KIERAN RAYNER tapped in to the empty net.

This seemed to fire Chapel in to action as they pressed forward and ASHLEY REDGUARD punished the visitors who had switched off for a few seconds with a fine finish.

The Second Half kicked off and the visitors ideas must have been to score the next goal, but the Swifts had different ideas when after just 37 seconds in to the half, CALUM BARLOW drew the outcoming visiting keeper and slotting past him. Within 2 minutes, it became 4-1, when the same player smashed the ball home from just outside the area.

Stars then began to fight back with a lot of possession, but they found the home defence on fine form and most efforts they had were dealt with.

In the final minute, Swifts wrapped up the scoring for the day when JORDAN BLOODWORTH fired home from the edge of the area.

BESTWOOD MINERS WELFARE FC 7 ATTENBOROUGH FC 0

I went to this match as I had a feeling there maybe a Cup shock could take place as midtable Division One Bestwood MW hosted Senior Division strugglers Attenborough FC.

Before kick off it was nice to greet Andy Dakin from Northwich and Tim from Stourbridge.

For the first twenty minutes, the game was equal and no  one would have complained if they had fallen a goal behind as both sides had decent chances, but after 25 minutes, the visitors failed cleared their penalty area and DUANE HAYWOOD turned and shot his side in front.

With rain hammering down as half time approached, a welcome cuppa at the break was what I needed, so I strolled over to the tea bar with Ex Unity & Real United Secretary Ritchie Hopkins.

The Second Half , the Welfare came out and pushed forward, a shot came in, to which the visiting keeper parried out to DUANE HAYWOOD who headed home to give his side a two goal advantage.

Attenborough tried to push forward, but the Welfare;s defence stood tall and kept the chances down to long range efforts. On the hour, it was 3-0 when a free kick by NDREQIM KRASHQI on the left hand wing dipped over the visiting keeper and in to the net.

Attenborough still tried to push forward but tired legs were showing and Bestwood seemed to have found a another level in fitness as they pressed with the visiting keeper making several very good saves, but he couldnt deny DUANE HAYWOOD in the 74th minute from completing his hat trick to make it 4-0.

The visitors heads went down and ex secretary Terry Allen asked if the 90 minutes were up, just then in the 76th minute, it was worse for Attenborough when STEFAN DALMEDO stepped in to the penalty area and placed his shot home.

After 82 minutes, Bestwood was awarded a penalty and up stepped James Duffy but the visiting keeper made a superb save to keep it out, but a minute later and all credit to Duffy, he didnt let his head go down and contined with his game with a superb little ball through for  DUANE HAYWOOD to make it 6-0.

As we headed towards the final minute of the game, a cross came in from the left wing and miners sub WAYNE EVANS connected with a overhead kick to make it 7-0.

I must mention the hard work put in to JIM DUFFY for getting the pitch in superb condition for this game to take place, a real credit to him and his club.

GOOD DAY AT THE OFFICE FOR KEYWORTH

KEYWORTH UNITED FC 5 MAGDALA AMATEURS FC 1

A good day for Keyworth United as at 2pm the Developement team kicked off ther NS Division Two match v Bingham Town Reserves to which I watched about the last 15 minutes of the First Half in a game that the hosts won 2-1.

The match on the main pitch was Keyworth United v Magdala Amateurs in the Premier Division and we didnt have to wait long for a opening goal, infact after only 100 seconds the Greens of Keyworth had played a ball in from the right wing and Magdala;s Dan Harris had turned the ball in to his own net.

Magdala fought as they pressed forward and got a well deserved equaliser on 18 minutes through TOM HAW. Straight from kick off their keeper kept them on level terms with a superb one on one save.

The Second Half started the same way  as the First Half, as United gained a free kick just outside the penalty area on 100 seconds and up stepped CAMERON GREY to fire his side back in front.

Keyworth then had two penalties turned down which I felt were correct decisions from experianced referee Mick Leslie, but a foul inside the box on 68 minutes couldnt prevent SCOTT LITCHFIELD widening the scoreline to 3-1 to the greens.

On 72 minutes, SCOTT LITCHFIELD was quickest to a ball in midfield and outsprinted the defender before placing the ball past the outcoming keeper to the home fans delight.

On 86 minutes, Magdala sub was sent to the sin bin after kicking the ball away and then must have shown dissent , so the visitors were down to ten players for the final minutes of the game.

In the final minute,Keyworth pressed forward for the last time and IAN MARLEY helped himself on to the scoresheet and made the final score 5-1.

In the clubhouse after the match, I must thank Sam Ralph who kindly donated from Keyworth United FC a pound for each goal scored in the game, so that takes the running total to a amazing £951.75p towards FORGET ME NOT, a small charity that supports people with dementia and their partners and carers.

VILLA POWER INTO NEXT ROUND OF THE CUP

Junior Cup: Round One

RAVENSHEAD RESERVES 0 AWSWORTH VILLA RESERVES 4

This tie saw Division Two Ravenshead Reserves host Division One Awsworth Villa Reserves in the first tie of this seasons Notts Senior League Junior Cup competition.

The game started brightly for the home side as they pushed forward but on just 7 minutes, visiting attacker SAM McELROY unleashed a 30 yard shot in to the bottom corner of the net to give Villa the lead.

Ravenshead pressed forward but the visiting defence stood tall and wasnt going to leak anything at the back.

The Second Half kicked off and it was all Awsworth on the attack and on 56 minutes, a quickly taken and well worked free kick ended up in the Ravenshead penalty area for JAMIE FEDERICI to slot his side in to a 2-0 lead.

Awsworth wasnt going to give up going forward and after 62 minutes JAMIE FEDERICI made it 3-0 and sealed the tie for the visitors. On 68 minutes, the homesters came as close as they did all match when a shot bounced off the visitors crossbar.

On 67 minutes, a throughball from the Awsworth midfield set ANT WITHE through on goal and he struck home number four for the visitors.

A well deserved win for Awsworth Villa Reserves who now progress to Round Two of the competition

STEVENSON;s DOUBLE EARNS WOLLATON FIRST WIN

With the Tour De Britain Cycle Race hitting Nottinghamshire, it was a matter of looking where we could get to and Wollaton fitted the bill. On arrival, Wollaton;s Chair man made the drinks and then donated £10 on behalf of the club towards the Charity Blog that is for FORGET ME NOT, a small charity that supports people with dementia and their partners and carers.

The game kicked in fine rain that became heavier during the match, but the Sugerbabes(wollaton) went in to the game without a win, but were first on the attack and went close several times.

On 15 minutes, Wollaton took the lead when the ball was played across for BEN WATSON to stroke home. Wollaton certainly pumped their game up and mistakes in the Bingham defence lead to them being 2-0 down on 24 minutes, when TOM SLADE pounced and doubled his sides advantage.

By now I had walked over to behind the goal and a mistake by the home keeper who dropped the ball at the feet of Bingham;s LEWIS RAY in the 33rd minute halved the score. Wollaton pressed back and nearly scored again when a header struck the post before bouncing to safety.

 In the 39th minute, Wollaton thought they had scored when the ball went over the goal line but the Assistant Referee raised his flag, the referee went over for a chat and ruled a free kick to the amazement to most in the crowd.

After the half time cuppa, Bingham began the brighter of the Second Half and on 55 minutes they were level through CHRIS BRADFORD whilst home keeper seemed to be on the floor injured.

Wollaton didnt give up and continued to press forward and on 70 minutes, a cross from the left side found the head of JOSHUA STEVENSON to give his side a 3-2 lead. Bingham pushed forward, whilst the homester pressed on the break and after 83 minutes, JOSHUA STEVENSON was on one on one with the visiting keeper who made a save but the attacker followed up to tap his side in to a 4-2 lead.

QUICK DOUBLE GIVES KIRTON THE WIN

MANSFIELD HOSIERY MILLS FC 0 KIRTON BRICKWORKS FC 2

On arrival at the Hosiery Mills, I soon got the team line ups and enjoyed a cuppa, I was soon joined by Dan Bishop and Chris Sharpe, before Nick Willis and Russ arrived. 

Before kick off a minutes silence was taken for a young lady involved at Mansfield Hosiery Mills. I stood with the groundhoppers and was joined by a local hopper Dave Woodings.

From the kick off, it was the Millers who looked more likely to score, with Luke Greaves going close twice, but the Brickies began to come more in to the game and after 11 minutes, a ball in to the area, saw KYLE CLARKSON get the ball first and lob it over the top of Matt New in the Millers net to put his side in to the lead.

It was soon to become 2-0 to the visitors as after 14 minutes, Brandon Mersh the young Referee gave Kirton a penalty, to which JON ROWLEY stepped up and stroke home. The Brickies were beginning to push forward a lot more often and were unlucky when a long range shot hit the crossbar before being cleared. The Millers were reduced to long range efforts which most went high and wide.

The Second Half, The Millers came out with a more attacking attitude and on 54 minutes, they saw a wicked shot crash off the crossbar,  visiting keeper Lee Bowler was called in to making a couple of good saves.

The rest of the half became a midfield battle with both sides pressing forward, but in front of a healthy crowd for the neutral produced a very good match.

At the end of the match, I said good bye to the hoppers and Nick Willis kindly donated £20 and Chris Sharpe £5 to the Charity Blog which is for FORGET ME NOT, a small charity that supports people with Dementia and their carers and partners, so a BIG thankyou to Nick and Chris.

 Mansfield Hosiery Mills FC have also kindly pledged £1 per goal that they score in the 2018-19 season. The running total stands at a amazing £931.00.

CAMPS BAGS VICTORY FOR THE HOOD

ELSTON UNITED FC 0 ROBIN HOOD COLTS FC 4

A routine away victory for Robin Hood Colts away at Elston United, who play their home matches at Coronation Street in Balderton, Newark. A lovely set up with a cafe and new changing rooms block.

On arrival, we managed to get the last parking space on the small car park, but someone did open up a large overspill car park later on as the teams began to arrive, as there was also cricket and bowls going on at the venue.

Hazel and Shawn loved it at this venue, as inside the cafe, they did some painting, Shawn painted a cat and Hazel a Garden Gnome.

With the team line ups, it was over to the pitchside, as there are 3 pitches here and this game was being played on the far pitch, then it turned out that the visiting goalkeeper hadnt arrived, so a quick alteration for the Colts seeing one the defenders keeping net for them.

The game kicked off and Elston had the first chance of the game, with a shot that flashed wide and Robin Hood began to press forward using Westerman on the left wing to provide for a quick attacking forward line. In the 12th minute, a cross from Westerman found GEORGE CAMPS who fired from 25 yards in to the top corner of the net to give his side the lead.

 After 14 minutes, the visitors thought they had doubled their advantage, when a through ball found Camps ran through and just caught the home keeper and the follow up finished in the net, but referee Scott Anderson ruled the goal out.

Elston again pushed forward and the stand in visiting keeper had to palm away a shot heading for the bottom corner of the net. After 25 minutes, a ball reached Jake Edward Smith who's shot was parried out by the home keeper for GEORGE CAMPS to follow up and tap home from close distance.

The Second Half saw much of the same, with the visitors on the attack and the home keeper keeping the scoreline down, but 51 minutes, a long Westerman throw fell to GEORGE CAMPS who scooped his his hat trick.

The team from Edwinstowe were now on constant attack and it was now a matter of when the next goal was coming and we had to wait until the 78th minute, when again Westerman crossed to the far post for GEORGE CAMPS to knock in his and his sides fourth goal of the match.

Referee Scott Anderson had a very good match
